Student Code of Conduct

  • Omaha Public Schools provides positive school environments where students feel connected and safe. Staff model behavior that builds positive relationships, resolves conflict and ensures support of the whole child.

All students are taught positive behavior expectations for school. By setting expectations for students, they learn to be responsible for themselves, their actions and make positive contributions. Those are reinforced through interventions and individual student supports.

The Student Code of Conduct applies to all students attending Omaha Public Schools. The disciplinary actions determined in the Student Code of Conduct are designed to be a learning experience for students.
School Leaders consider a student’s age, development and individual needs when responding to behavior concerns. Families are asked to review their school's handbook together before the start of school.
