Air & Space Academy students will graduate with experience in the world of aviation and aerospace. This academy offers students real-world experience in flight, aircraft construction, and aerospace engineering. Students who decide to choose this academy will be Ready. To. Fly.
Burke Air & Space students can choose from FOUR pathways:
- Flight: Learn how to fly a plane or drone and even complete your Private Pilot's test or UAV certification.
- Aircraft Mechanics: Learn to maintain and repair aircraft with industry tools
- Aerospace Engineering: Learn the science of flight and spacecraft while designing and building
- Airport Management: Learn how to use your interests and skills to support the world of aviation through management, logistics, and organization
What are my options in the Burke Air & Space Academy?
Why Burke Air & SpaceBoeing estimates that over 790,000 pilots will be needed in the next 20 years.* The numbers are similar for aviation mechanics, controllers, engineers, and managers When we say the "sky is the limit", we actually mean it! There has never been a better time to experience the options and opportunities available to you in aviation and aerospace.
Students invited into the Air & Space Academy will have the opportunity to choose from four academic pathways leading to career opportunities in the field of aviation. Academy students will be members of a learning community who share common core classes taught through the lens of aviation. Acceptance to this program will provide students the opportunity to earn several college credits prior to graduation through Dual Enrollment with partner institutions. Academy Students can be involved in activities and organizations associated with flight. They will have access to local, regional, and national organizations that can provide real-life knowledge and experiences to prepare students for the challenging and rewarding experience of a career in aviation.
The Burke Air & Space Academy is truly where leadership takes flight.
We hope you will come fly with us.
