Omaha Public Schools is thankful to our community for approving the $421 million Phase 1 bond in 2014, and the $409.9 million Phase 2 bond in 2018. The improvements to current schools and the building of five new schools will support a positive learning environment for students across our district.
The Phase 1 bond projects are now complete. Phase 1 was completed on time, and on budget, even allowing the district to complete additional identified work. The Phase 2 bond is currently on track and on schedule, as well. Five new schools are part of the Phase 2 bond. Pine Elementary, Forest Station Elementary, Buena Vista High and Westview High opened in the fall of 2022. Bluestem Middle welcomes its first students in the fall of 2023.
