Mrs. Elizabeth Schenck

I am Elizabeth (Beth) Schenck the Principal's Administrative Assistant and Office Manager of Westview High. I am a proud product of OPS having attended Harrison Elementary, Lewis & Clark Middle and Benson High along with my three brothers. My mother also worked for OPS for 40 years first as head of mail services at TAC and then as elementary secretary at Sunny Slope. In 2005 I started in OPS at Northwest High where I spent 16 years first as an Admin Secretary then Athletic Secretary. My personal motto is “I am support staff, I support staff” I believe in helping our teachers in any way I can so they can focus on what is important, educating our future generations. I am married and mom to two young adult children and been school mom to many others.

“always be yourself unless you can be a wolverine, then be a wolverine!”

Mrs. Anne Wegner

Hello, my name is Anne Wegner and I am the Data/Registrar Secretary at Westwiew High School.  I have been with Omaha Public Schools for 5 years in a variety of roles.  I started my journey with OPS at Edison Elementary where I worked as a paraprofessional in both the Head Start program and an ACP classroom.  I then moved to Joslyn Elementary and have spent that last 3 1/2 years working as the PAC Facilitator, a ECSE Paraprofessional, and a Kids Club staff member.  At Joslyn, I was also a member of the school’s SAT team, MTSS-B team, and served on their PTO board.

I am excited to say that my family is definitely #opsproud!  My husband of 25 years, Bob, graduated from North High School.  Additionally, my 11 year old twins, Alex and Alea, are finishing up their 5th grade year at Joslyn Elementary, will be attending Davis Middle School in the fall, and are future Westview Wolverines!  We are a sports family, so our free time is spent at either the football field, baseball diamond, softball diamond, or at the basketball court.

It has been wonderful working in two elementary schools, supporting our youngest OPS students as they start on their educational path. I am elated to be part of a staff that will assist students as they finish the final chapter of their OPS student career.  Westview promises to be one of the BEST High Schools in the state, and I am thrilled to be a member of the Wolverine team!

Rachel Kohls

Hi, my name is Rachel Kohls and I am ecstatic to be able to work alongside the students, parents, and staff at Westview High School! I am a proud graduate of Omaha Burke High School and count it a blessing to work for the same district I had the privilege of attending and graduating from! I knew from an early age that I wanted to work in education, and I remember the countless hours playing “teacher” in my grandparents' basement. Over the years I have had many opportunities in the education field student teaching, working with kids and teens, as well as being a member of educators rising.

For the last two years I have had the wonderful privilege of serving as a Kindergarten Paraprofessional at the same elementary school I attended as a child (Catlin Arts Magnet Elementary). I am so excited to be able to serve as the athletics secretary, as I am a huge sports fan and played basketball as a kid! I can’t wait for new year ahead and what is in store for the future of Westview High School! Go Wolverines!

Mrs. Maria Gonzalez

Hola! My name is Maria Gonzalez and I am the Spanish bilingual liaison at Westview High School!

I have worked with Public Schools for 24 years. For the past 18 years I have been the Spanish Bilingual Liaison for Omaha Public Schools. Before that, I was a substitute teacher in Illinois.

When I arrived in this country, my English was very limited! At that time, I wanted to go to school to get a master's degree to teach Spanish at a College level. One of the requirements to be accepted was to take an English proficiency test called TOEFL (Test of English as a Second Language). So, I got the necessary materials for the test and my journey began! I studied 2 hours a day 7 days to week for the next 4 years. After I became competent enough, I went to the public library and I got an audiobook. The book was the autobiography of Abraham Lincoln. It took me 2 years to read the book!

Being an interpreter is my vocation, I enjoy it so much! I can't imagine doing anything else! I'm very excited to work at a new high school and to reconnect with some of you and also to meet the new staff.
