Junior/ Senior Prom Information
When: Saturday, April 22, 2023
Theme: Midnight Masquerade (masquerade masks optional)
Location: Milo Bail Student Center, UNO Dodge campus. 6203 University Dr N, Omaha, NE 68182
Tickets: $25 each. On sale from April 10- April 21st during all 4 lunches. Cash, Check, or Card accepted. Virtual payment options are not available at this time.
Can I go if I am a sophomore or freshman? Yes, if you are the date or guest of a Junior or Senior.
Can I bring a non- NW date/ guest? Yes, you need a permission filled out and returned before you can purchase their ticket. Permission slips will be available in April.
There is no information about Post Prom yet. Mrs. Jahns will update as soon as that information is given to her.
The counseling office has a Career Building binder containing locations that are looking for help.
Students can come to the counseling office and look through the binder.
Currently, we have one job in the binder for Fun-Plex Waterpark & Rides.

Juniors and Sophomores,
Plan to attend our Career & College Planning Night. Come listen to the experts on how to best prepare for your dream career/college. Reps from EducationQuest, UNO, Metro CC, and the military will present to you and your parents/guardians on Thursday, Feb 16th at 6 pm in the NW Auditorium.
-The Northwest Food Pantry is open to all students and families and can be accessed anytime during the school day or otherwise by appointment. Come see Mrs. Coyne in the Counseling Office or call 531-299-9440 to set up an appointment. Anyone can access the pantry, no questions asked.
-Students: Come take a look around the Northwest Clothing Closet where we have a range of sizes and styles! Come see Mrs. Coyne in the Counseling Office or call 531-299-9440 to check it out. Mrs. Coyne can take students to the Northwest Clothing Closet anytime throughout the school day or otherwise by appointment.
-2nd Semester Credit Recovery is rolling! Please scan the QR code attached to sign up to be considered for afterschool credit recovery on Tuesdays and Wednesdays 3:15-5:00.
-Yearbooks are on sale in the treasurer's office, located under the spiral staircase. They are $50 each and you can pay with cash, check, or a debit/credit card. Please stop by and see Mrs. McFarland to purchase yours today!
Cap & Gown Order
To access the direct link for the Northwest Cap & Gown, CLICK HERE. There are many cap & gowns, package deals you can choose from, but the basic package for just the cap & gown is now $78.95. Students want to select "customize" and fill in their height, weight, and requirements.
School Traditions (402-733-0300) is the local Omaha store that partners with Jostens. They can help set up monthly payment plans if necessary. Their store hours are Wednesday 10am-6pm and Saturdays 10am-12noon. For more specific questions about caps & gowns, please contact our school counseling director by email at email@example.com.
The Cancer Unwrapped National Teen Writing Contest
In its 16th year, the contest offers students a chance to win one of several $1,000 cash prizes. Each year, students write about their experiences with cancer, whether their own or that of a loved one or friend. Over the years, the essays have been emotional and deeply personal. Open to all students in grades 9-12 Entries must be in the form of an essay only and must not exceed 1,500 words. The deadline for entries is March 3, 2023. Please use the email below for questions.
The Greater Omaha-Council Bluffs Area Council on Youth Leadership is offering scholarships to those of you who: 1. have a cumulative 3.0 GPA 2. have held 2 leadership roles within the past 2 years.

-The ACT club will begin meeting starting on Monday, Feb. 13, from 3:15-4:45 in room 203. We will meet Mondays in Februrary-March to help students prepare for the ACT on April 4. We will begin by taking and discussing the Math section of the exam. Dr. Steele will be leading the Math and Science portions. Mrs. Remington will do the Reading, English, and Writing sections.
