Northwest High Magnet School
Home of the HuskiesNorthwest High Magnet School at 8204 Crown Point Avenue in Omaha, Nebraska is located on a 61-acre campus in northwest Omaha. Completed in 1971, it is one of nine high schools in the Omaha Public Schools district. 2004 saw the addition of several classrooms and improvements in the choral and band facilities. Further renovations were completed during the 2018-19 school year, which included a new atrium entrance, additional office areas, updated classrooms and a second practice gym. The current principal of Northwest High is Dr. Kimberly Jackson.
Special features within the building include an 800 seat auditorium center, a 2,200 seat gymnasium (with two balcony areas for physical education instruction and interscholastic athletics), a 6,000 seat football field, and the latest equipment for students in specialized areas such as computer technology, art, business, mathematics and science.
Northwest's colors are scarlet, navy, and old gold. Its mascot is the Husky.
