Ms. Shannel Dantzler

Shannel Dantzler is a proud Omaha Public Schools graduate and has been working as an educator for OPS for more than 30 years. Mrs. Dantzler began her journey in OPS as an intern in 1994 and then, after graduating from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, she was a sixth-grade teacher at Dundee and Sunny Slope. After earning her Master of Arts in Secondary Education with an endorsement in Library, she worked as a Library Media Specialist at Miller Park. In that role, Mrs. Dantzler worked with administration, teachers, staff and students and it naturally progressed into leadership. She returned to the University of Nebraska at Omaha and earned another degree in Educational Administration for both elementary and secondary. For the last 15 years, she served as the Instructional Facilitator at Walnut Hill.

Mrs. Dantzler is grateful to the supportive family and educators who recognized her potential as a young student. It is her goal to pay that forward. She wholeheartedly believes, “Every child deserves a teacher who believes in them.” It is her hope that students feel this every single day. She is happy to be a member of Buffett Middle.
