Lion’s Pride After School Program for McMillan Middle School
Dear Parents, families, & students,
WELCOME to Lion’s Pride after school program! My name is Stefanie Conley, the director of Lion’s Pride. We are very excited to have the opportunity to serve you and your child(ren). You may use our program on a daily basis or as needed. From 3:05 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, we provide a variety of activities for your children to take part of, including provider clubs, a hot meal, homework help, and a variety of fun activities for all students.
We are very fortunate to partner with organizations to offer exciting clubs during the after school program. This year we are lucky to partner with: Building Dreams, Brain Exchange (AIM), Team Bike Rescue, the Rose Theatre, the Omaha Zoo, Big Garden, Future Fitness, Basic Hope, and Why Arts, as well as in-house clubs, Digital Media, Science Club, Unity Project, Lion’s Pride Store, Dance Team, e-Sports, and Girl Talk.
ALL students will be required to fill out a new application packet, as well as a Collective for Youth Consent to Release form before attending Lion’s Pride. Scholars are expected to be students FIRST, and participation in the afterschool program can be affected by student behaviors during the day.
We will have at least two, family nights this year, as well as offer field trips to fun and educational places for students who qualify to attend throughout the year. We hope to make this year a fun, exciting, and safe place for ALL students here at McMillan.
Programming will begin Monday, August 21st, 2023. To attend, a student must have all the paperwork turned in. ALL student athletes are required to be part of Lion’s Pride as well.
Additionally, the first week of programming (August 21st – August 25th) myself, and my assistant JonTayvia Semans will be available to meet and greet any/all families from 5 – 6pm each day. Our hope is to be outside to meet as many families as we can!
Who to Contact if needed: (when picking up please call/text our new Y number or send a quick email; or you can text your child. The building phone number will NOT work for after-school pickups, as staff leaves at 4pm).
