• Counselors throughout Omaha Public Schools work to develop student success in academic, social and college and career readiness.  Counselors interact with students regularly. They provide classroom instruction and activities to develop academic and emotional skills. They also provide individual and small group counseling. These small groups settings can help students resolve conflict, practice skills and think through their actions. As students are registering for high school classes and/or preparing for the next stage of life after graduation, counselors are there to support students as they think through their hobbies, skills and future goals.

    Ms. Sisavanh, School Counselor

I began working with OPS as an elementary classroom teacher.  I then moved on to work with the district’s ESL (English as a Second Language) department, and now I am the new school counselor of Jackson Elementary School. Please feel free to contact me (English or Spanish) through email (Amanda.Sisavanh@ops.org) or by phone (531) 299-1620.  I look forward to working with the students and families of Jackson Elementary School and getting to know you all!
