About Catlin Elementary

  • Catlin Magnet Center is located at 12736 Marinda Street in Omaha. We like to call ourselves "the small school with a big heart". We currently have 36 staff members serving the families of 127 students in kindergarten through fifth grade. We recognize that each child has diverse needs and we work to meet those needs through special services such as special education and English language instruction, as well as through a collaborative cycle of learning, instruction and assessment.

We were previously a part of the OPS Magnet program as the Fine and Performing arts magnet school. Although that program has become a legacy, we still try to provide each student with a robust offering of what we call "essentials" classes. All students in grades 2-5 participate in strings class as well as general music, art, library, and physical education. Students also have the opportunity to participate in folk dancing, chorus, band, harp class, and a boomwhackers ensemble. We also make every effort to immerse our students in the arts community through partnerships with local organizations such as the Omaha Symphony and the Rose Theatre.

We have 2 priorities at Catlin Arts Magnet:

    1. To nurture each and every child that walks through our doors AND

    2. To elevate each and every adult that walks through our doors.

We are proud to be a part of Omaha Public Schools!

Mission: To prepare all students for success in college, career, and life.

Vision: Every student. Every day. Prepared for success.
