Accelere offers an intensive course format with a three-week duration.  Students may choose a morning or afternoon schedule for flexibility or choose both to accelerate acquisition.  12 three-week 'terms' are offered during the school year and two during the summer.  Students served are typically ages 17-21.  Due to a waiting list, a student may enter by either passing 75 percent of courses in their last semester of regular high school, or by earning credits at the Independent Studies Pathway.

Accelere students choose to attend the program for various reasons.  Whether a student is parenting, in need of a flexible schedule, or behind on credits, Accelere’s unique and fast-tracked schedule is a great alternative to traditional high school.

Rather than a traditional semester, Accelere operates using a term schedule.  Each Accelere term is three weeks in duration.  Because this is an accelerated program, daily attendance is required to earn course credits.  Successful completion of each course will result in credit earned towards graduation.  Accelere Term Calendar

Accelere offers the same Standards Based Curriculum found in all Omaha Public Schools facilitated by certified teachers.

To be authorized to enter the Accelere Pathway, a student must be eligible for traditional school placement.  Students generally earn 3/4 of their credits from a traditional high school, or two credits at the Independent Studies Pathway prior to entering.  Each application is reviewed on an individual basis.  Enrollment preference is given to students whose participation in the program could result in an on-time graduation.
