Intermediate Band/Advanced Band

Band is offered to students with advanced abilities developed through one or two years of elementary school band participation. Placement is based on ability level. Music introduced includes: scales, technique studies, solos/ensembles, and selected concert band music, including music from a variety of cultures from around the world. Membership is achieved by audition and/or approval from the Beveridge band instructor and may be limited by instrumentation needs. The class offers opportunities to perform at school concerts, band festivals, honor bands, the All-City Music Festival, and the Adventureland Festival of Bands in Des Moines, Iowa. Opportunities will also be provided for observation of and participation in high school band activities.
