Welcome to Sunny Slope Elementary School, home of the Suns!

It is my pleasure to serve the families of Sunny Slope. I have served the Omaha Public Schools since 2006. During those years, I have taught 4th grade, have been a literacy facilitator, a School Support Liaison, assistant principal, Teaching and Learning Consultant, and now a principal. 

My goal is to make Sunny Slope a place where everyone feels they belong and when they leave, they have fond memories of their time here. I want both my students and my staff to feel successful and excited about the hard work being done at Sunny Slope. At Sunny Slope, we aim to help each student reach their full potential and feel success within the classroom. We support our students to be the best they can be and always keep expectations high. We believe that the classroom is a place where everyone belongs, has a role to fill, and is safe to take chances and learn. 

Sunny Slope is a supportive school community where we meet our students where they are at and expect nothing but the very best from them every day. We are continuously reflecting and adjusting our instruction, so students are learning and feeling successful in the classroom. We have the support of family-run businesses along with parent and family volunteers.
