PRINCIPAL
It is my joy and pleasure to serve as principal of Spring Lake. At Spring Lake, I have found a second family. Staff and students strive to treat each other with respect and love. We are proud of our many community partnerships to provide an excellent education. Our home-school partnerships are the most important relationships of all.
As for my professional background, I earned a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with an endorsement in English as a Second Language from the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO). Later, I continued my studies and earned an endorsement in bilingual education from UNO as well as a master's degree in Educational Leadership from Doane University. My career in education began as a primary teacher at a small bilingual Catholic school in South Omaha. In 2004, I began working as a dual language teacher at RM Marrs Magnet Middle School. From 2009 until July 2019, I served as the curriculum supervisor for the dual language and world languages programs for the Omaha Public Schools. In August 2019, I achieved one of my dreams, becoming the principal of Spring Lake Magnet Elementary. My most important role is being a mom of three and grandmother of one.
As a fully bilingual educator, I feel blessed to be able to communicate directly with those who belong to and serve Spring Lake students. Please feel free to contact me directly with any questions or concerns. I am looking forward to assisting our children in fulfilling their purpose and growing to their maximum potential.

ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL
As Spring Lake Magnet’s Assistant Principal, I feel honored to have the privilege of working closely with such an outstanding and dedicated school community! I am committed to continuing the success of every child, both academically and socially, through the Innocent Classroom philosophy - where each child's good is discovered, cherished and protected.
As for my professional background, I received both my teaching certificates in regular and special education and Masters in Administration and Supervision from Creighton University. Beginning in 1996, my experience in the Omaha Public Schools includes seven years as a sixth grade teacher and two years as Citizenship Facilitator at Belvedere Academy, Assistant Principal at Prairie Wind (2004-05) and currently AP at Spring Lake Magnet Center. My experiences as both a classroom teacher and administrator have provided me with valuable knowledge and resources to be both an effective instructional and strategic leader as well as a strong advocate for our children's social and academic success.
I invite you to take an active role in your child's education. It truly takes the village to raise our children. I look forward to working together this year and my door is always open to all of you!
