Highland Elementary’s School Improvement Plan (One-Pager)
Priority Goal (Academic)Reading:
Due to 77% of students not reading on grade level at Highland we will have a granular focus on small group and tier one core instruction to increase students reading on grade level.
Strategies/Actions:
1. Grade level planning (including backwards planning) around common assessments both formative and summative
2. Coaching around the ELA structure and small group instruction
3. Scaffolding for tier one instruction during whole group

- Coaching evidence will reflect best practices in tier one core instruction and small group interventions.
- Consistency in pacing across grade levels, shown through lesson plans
- Teachers embedding engagement strategies in lesson planning

- The students in the mentor programs will have increased attendance
- Continual decrease in office referrals throughout the school year utilizing the behavior dashboard
