I am originally from Wichita, Kansas and it has a population (550,000) comparable to Omaha, Nebraska. Wichita is in the south/central part of Kansas (only 30 miles from the Oklahoma border). Wichita is known as the Air Capital of the World-If you have flown on a plane, it probably was manufactured there. Do you like pizza? Pizza Hut was also founded in Wichita, Kansas. I always knew that I wanted to be a teacher, even as a little girl! I began my teaching career in 1994 after graduating from Friends University. I have been blessed to have had so many wonderful experiences within the classroom. I have taught all grades Kindergarten through Fifth within the Wichita Public Schools. Connecting with students and helping them achieve their dreams and goals is truly what it is about! My love of teaching lead me to continue my education to become a better teacher. As Maya Angelou states “When you learn, teach. When you get, give.” I completed my master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction and began working with teachers to support instruction as an Instructional Coach after 15 years within the classroom. I love working with students and seeing them become “their best self” through their accomplishments! After working in this capacity with teachers I again returned to further my education and received my master’s in Leadership from Emporia State College. I have enjoyed and learned so much from having the opportunity to serve students, families, communities, and staff for ten years as an administrator. I came to Omaha, Nebraska, where I’m currently in my fourth year as Principal. Our Fontenelle community cares about each other in so many ways. I am so blessed to serve each of you. GO FALCONS!

ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL
I feel at home being a Fontenelle Falcon! I was raised in the Fontenelle community. I began my teaching career at Fontenelle 13 years ago as a 6th grade teacher. I spent several years teaching science at Monroe Middle School, which many Fontenelle students attend for middle school. Before going back to Fontenelle as the Dean of Culture as well as being the Dean of Students at Monroe Middle School. In my 13-year educational journey, I have been able to form relationships with families in the community.
Serving my community is my passion. I live in North Omaha. You may see me out and about in the North Omaha community. It is important for me to be active in the community that I serve. It is fulfilling to be able to give back to the community in which I was raised, by helping educate the youth. Whitney Houston said it best, “Children are our future. Teach them well and let them lead the way. Show them all the beauty they possess inside.” Not only is that one of my favorite songs, but I truly believe it. All of our children have beauty inside and as the Assistant Principal of Fontenelle Elementary, I will support in helping children find their gifts so they can lead the way!
