The Morton Middle School Panther Pack inspires and enables all young people,
especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, healthy and caring citizens.
The Panther Pack program is not just a safe place for kids to go after school. We provide diverse activities that meet the interests of youth, all of which promote healthy development and education that help members grow into positive and caring adults. The Core Program areas outlined below engage young people in activities with adults, peers and family members that enable them to develop self-esteem and to reach their full potential.
Education and Career Development: Our academic programming enables youth to become proficient in basic educational disciplines, set goals, explore careers, prepare for employment and embrace technology to achieve success in a career.
Character and Leadership Development: Our Character & Leadership focus empowers youth to support and influence the school and community, sustain meaningful relationships with others, develop a positive self-image and good character, participate in the democratic process, and respect their and others’ cultural identities.
Health and Life Skills: Our health & life skills programming develops young people’s capacity to engage in positive behaviors that nurture their own well-being, set personal goals and live successfully as self-sufficient adults.
The Arts: Our art programs help youth to develop their creativity and cultural awareness through knowledge and appreciation of the visual arts, crafts, performing arts and creative writing.
Sports/Fitness and Recreation: Our athletics programming develops fitness, positive use of leisure time, skills for stress management, appreciation for the environment and social skills.
Special Programs and Services: We are constantly seeking out new, enriching activities for our members to participate in. From literacy support to driving safety.

Other After School Programs
All students have the opportunity to do homework, study or get tutoring with a teacher in the first hour of programming. This time is offered to every student but is not forced.
Panther Pack isn’t always about business…we like to have lots of fun too! We have many field trips planned all year at no cost to you or your student. Some of our field trips will be grade incentive driven which means, if the student is carrying any D’s or F’s in any class, they will not be permitted on those field trips. All field trips are driven by behavior. If your student has continuous bad behavior during school hours and/or at Panther Pack, they will not be permitted on field trips until they clean up their issues. We will not take any student off school grounds if they are misbehaving in the building.
Permission slips will always be sent home with the student and they will be given a date to return them. We will not call home to get confirmations from parents. We have to have a parent/guardian signed slip on file.
Panther Pack has 6-10 Family Nights a year. These nights are great opportunities for members to show off the club, what we offer and the works they have completed or learned. It also gives the families a chance to mingle with the staff and get to know one another. This allows the parents/guardians to get a better understanding of what their child is learning and involved in during their time in Panther Pack.
After School Clubs
All students are required to participate in all scheduled programs and clubs during Panther Pack hours. Our programs and clubs provide each child with a target outcome that is important to BGCM. Our priority is to ensure that all lessons and activities target good character, citizenship, academic success and a healthy lifestyle.
