The Title I program provides supplementary resources to support instruction in reading, writing, mathematics and helps provide an enriched and accelerated curriculum. The goal of Title I is to assist in providing a high quality education for every child. This program provides extra assistance and instruction to students who need it most. Title I resources are directed to school attendance areas with high poverty levels.
The Omaha Public Schools' Title I program is part of the district's process for school reform. The OPS district has a standard-based curriculum in every content area, clearly defined outcomes for student achievement, innovative initiatives and a comprehensive, professional development plan for paraprofessionals and other staff to meet the rigorous state and federal standards.
