Attendance Incentives for parents: Offer prizes for parents for 95% attendance (gift cards for gas, groceries, etc.)

Boyd January 2023 PTO Meeting
Attendance
· Communicating to families the importance of good attendance
· Rewarding students who have outstanding and perfect attendance
· Idea to educate families on too sick for school (when and when not to come to school when sick)
Celebrations
· Gingerbread night and bookfair very successful
· Book fair profited $1100 for student and teacher incentive purchases
· Book fair sold around $5,000 in books

Principals Report-
- The Fall Festival and parade were loved by all
- Fall Conference Meal- Thanks to all who donated
- Staff meals were provided with PTO funds
Butter-Braid Fundraiser- Mrs. Beaber
- Began Monday, October 17th
- Letter to families was sent out October 14th
- A list of items was developed for students to earn after selling a number of ButterBraids.
- Boyd students sold 658 butter braids with a profit of $3,899.50.
- Funds will be used for teacher appreciation week, classroom supplies, and beaver best/dojo point rewards
Boyd Wear
- Online store for families and staff created for Boyd Wear (Shirts and sweatshirts with Boyd Logo)
Volunteers Needed
- · We are looking for a volunteer for Wednesday, November 16th to help pass out/sort butter braids for families to pick up
Upcoming Events/News
- Bake Sale December 1st
- Donations from families/staff regarding bake sale items, pre-packaged and store purchased
- Funds earned will be utilized for staff appreciation gifts multiple times throughout the year, treat cart for staff, food for Spring conferences, and staff appreciation week in May
Gingerbread House STEM Night-December 1st 5:00-7:00pm
- Donations of candy needed
- Title 1 will purchase graham crackers
- Every student who attends Gingerbread House Night and attends the book fair will receive a $10 voucher to be utilized at the Book Fair (Boyd student participants)
- Parent volunteers needed to prepare bags of goodies to build their Gingerbread House (week of November 28th) anytime during the day or after school
- Families have been asked to bring their own frosting
- Frosting will be on hand for families without
Book Fair- November 28-December 2
- Need volunteers!
- Grand Event Wednesday, November 30th for grandparents (students will have breakfast and shop the bookfair with their grandparents.

Misc. announcements
- When visiting Boyd during the school day parents will need check in and escorted to and from classrooms. This is due to safety
- Please keep visits to school to around a 15 minute range because we do not want visits to cause classroom disruptions.
- Drop off in morning: Please drop off students in the morning at 8:30 or later as our staff is not on duty until this time.

All Boyd families are hereby invited to participate in Boyd activities and PTO meetings starting on September 6, 2022. Meetings will take place on the second Tuesday of each month from 5:30-6:30. All meetings will be held in the library.
