"The Engineer Award will be given to a team that has designed and built a robot that balances creative and innovative design, function and attention to detail. This team will have built a robot that is well constructed and has attention to safety in both design and construction. The winner of this award will have engineered a quality robot at all levels."

They altered the standard IQ clawbot to be more effective at collecting balls and better balanced by placing the claw lower. They experimented with several types and tested each one carefully. All of this was done on their own without consulting any adults.

They knew what they wanted to achieve and continued till they succeeded!
