Did you know?
A new Nebraska law means all high school graduates need to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or opt out.
The FAFSA helps you explore, plan and pay for education after high school.
This month, students are getting information about the FAFSA in advisement and personal finance.
The 2025-26 FAFSA (for students graduating in 2025) opens December 1.
You can check off part of the process today! Create a Student Aid account, called an FSA ID, if you do not already have one.
Students need their own account. Families (parents or guardians) do too. Go to studentaid.gov and follow the instructions.
That’s it! That’s the first step. Questions? EducationQuest can help. (English) and (Spanish).
School counselors can help if you have additional questions or need an opt-out form.
Rest assured, we’ll send more information closer to December 1, when the 2025-26 FAFSA opens.
We are #OPSProud of the Class of 2025!
