Student Code of Conduct

Omaha Public Schools uses a proactive and instructional approach to school discipline. Through Multi-Tiered Systems of Support for Behavior (MTSS-B) and Social-Emotional Learning (SEL), staff work to create positive school environments where students feel welcome, connected, and safe.

The Student Code of Conduct applies to all students in Omaha Public Schools. It helps communicate which behaviors break the rules and what consequences may follow. School leaders consider several factors when choosing how to respond to misbehavior. These include the student’s age, level of development, the seriousness of the incident, and the student’s intent. Families are encouraged to review and discuss the Student Code of Conduct before the school year begins.
