WHO: Teachers 2-12 WHEN: If students need to work on their
fluency, daily practice is recommended until smooth reading
is mastered. TEACHING
PROCEDURES/ CHECK-UP: On a daily basis, monitor the development
of student fluency in small instructional group
situations. Note: Having students who are
struggling with fluency read orally in large group
activities without allowing them to have rehearsals or
practices may be counterproductive. FOLLOW-UP: If students continue to have fluency
difficulties after six weeks of modeled activities, a
Student Assistance Team may be necessary.
