Textbook: Simply Strings

 

 

Course Description:  Students will increase their knowledge of music and its history; as well as perform twice during the school year.  Orchestra students also have the opportunity to be selected for All City participation. They will also develop their math, reading, communication and team work skills. 

 

 

 

 

 

Course Requirements and Evaluation Criteria:

 

1.  Practicing calendars due monthly

2. Daily Points
3. Playing & Written Quizzes & Tests (including CRTs)

 

                               

Grade Scale: 

A = 93 – 100%

B = 85 – 92%

C = 78 – 84%

D = 70 – 77%

F  = 69% or less 

 

 

Course Calendar 

First Semester:

Concert performance on December 11th at 7:00 p.m. in the Nathan Hale Auditorium.

Second Semester:

60th Annual All City Festival (selected students)

Adjudication on site April 16
Concert on May 12th at 7:00 p.m. in the Nathan Hale Auditorium
