In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, Nathan Hale’s Honors by Contract students wrote essays for a statewide contest about the upcoming 2010 Census. Three of Nathan Hale’s students swept the middle school category and took all three spots for first, second and third place in the middle school division. On the evening of October 15th, at the Capitol Building in Lincoln, the students were honored as the recipients of savings bonds for winning the essay contest.   The essay contest was sponsored by the Nebraska Mexican-American Commission. The evening was filled with festivities celebrating the Hispanic heritage. It will be a night to remember for these students and all involved.
