Dear Parents and Students,

Welcome to 7th grade at Morton Middle School! My name is Mrs. Kim Longwell and I teach Social Studies on Team 7B. Our focus this year is on the Eastern Hemisphere.

Supplies Requested for Social Studies
2 (70-sheet) spiral notebooks (one for each semester), 4 glue sticks, colored pencils

Classroom Expectations
  1. Students are expected to have their spiral notebook every time we meet.
  2. Students need to be in their seat when the bell rings or they will be counted tardy. Three times tardy will result in a detention.
  3. Students shall remain in their seat unless given permission to be up.
  4. Students will begin each class with bell work (review) in their spiral notebook.
  5. All notes and homework will be written in their spiral notebook.

Grades       93-100% = A         85-92% = B         78-84% = C         70-77% = D
Grades will be based on numerous activities including: bell work, notebook, homework, quizzes, tests, and projects. Note: Late work will not be given full credit.

Absent Days
Students will have as many days as they were absent to make up their work. It is the student’s responsibility to check the Assignment Notebook and Make-Up Folders for the work missed while absent. I will gladly help if there is a question about the directions!
