BATHROOM PASSES
Class time is valuable and I expect students to go to the restroom during passing period. However, I do understand that special circumstances do arise, and in these situations I will sometimes permit a student to use the restroom provided the following:
- It is a genuine emergency.
- You are a young lady with personal reasons.
- I am not giving notes or instructions.
- The student is respectful of this privilege. Being allowed a bathroom visit during class time is a privilege not a right! If a student violates this restroom privilege, he/she will not be allowed to use the restroom for the reaminder fo the year. Violating this privilege includes but is not limited to going somewhere other that the restroom, being noisy in the hallway, habitually needing to go to the bathroom, complaints from other staff members, etc.
Behavior Intervention:
I subscribe to the 3 strikes rule. I will give a student three chances to make the right choice. After that, a consequence will be given.
NOTE: I reserve the right to go to strike 3 for major offenses or repeat offenders. I also reserve the right to make the punishment fit the crime. For example, if you are drawing on one of the lab tables, you will get to stay after school and scrub all the lab tables in the classroom.
