Course Outline and general classroom expectations and guidelines for Spanish 1-2

Hola! Hello my name is Mrs. Martin and I am Morton Magnet’s Spanish teacher. I am hoping to have a classroom full of energy and enthusiasm! Students are expected to be respectful and work together as a class to make this a positive learning environment. The students should not be afraid to express themselves. Mistakes are going to be made. That is the beginning of true learning. Spanish is difficult but fun and interesting language that will help you to expand your cultural horizons.

Spanish Classroom expectations

The students will be able to:
  1. Articulate knowledge in Spanish to engage in conversations and to express ideas, feelings and emotions.
  2. To express Spanish in written form. Students will be able to organize words in complete sentences to convey a message.
  3. Learn about Spanish speaking countries and their cultures.

Materials

Students must bring to class
-          pen, pencil
-          Spiral notebook
-          Folder

Grading System
Home work
Most work will be done in class unless not finished. Homework is your responsibility. Points can not be given to students if they are not turned in. Late work will be excepted but it will be down graded. Homework hotline is 557-4700. The school code is 14750. Homework will be written in their agendas daily. We encourage parents to check these agendas to help students stay on task.

Testing
Testing will be given at the end of each chapter. A final exam will also be given at the end of each semester that covers much of the material that we have gone over.

Help
It would be my pleasure to give extra help when needed. It is best to coordinate a time with me after school if you would like to stay. If you let me know, I can stay later everyday except for Fridays.

If we work together, we can have a great class with a great atmosphere. Thanks for your help!
