Instrumental Music Grade Policy
 INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC GRADING POLICY

Grades will be determined using the following items:
                Regular playing evaluations of scales, method book exercises, and musical excerpts. (20 point
scale)
                Written exercises and tests (CRT’s). (Usually a 20 or 25 point scale)
                Practice record (20 point scale)
                Daily rehearsal participation/attendance/behavior (5 points per rehearsal)
                Winter and Spring Concert participation (50 points per concert)

Correct notes, correct rhythms, steady tempo, and no mistakes.

Minor note, rhythm, or tempo mistakes.

3
Noticeable mistakes with notes, rhythm, and tempo.

Many note mistakes, incorrect rhythms, and unsteady tempo.
0-11
5
Incomplete, unrecognizable, or unattempted

DAILY REHEARSAL PARTICIPATION/ATTENDANCE/BEHAVIOR
 
5 points will be awarded for appropriate participation in rehearsals.
Points will be subtracted for tardiness, misbehavior, non-participation, absence, suspension, MISS, and/or inappropriate participation during rehearsals.
