Leadership Teams
Leadership is a group of seventh and eighth graders in our school that have been chosen by Mrs. Figueroa, gifted teacher, and split into teams. The teams show that they can exceed expectations and show good leadership skills. The eighth grade students involved in leadership are Evan Berry, Josie Bircher, Fred Cooperwood, Crystal Ishii, Mady Kenny, Rachel Kirschenmann, Asher Lewis, M’rcy Matsunami, and Reynaldo Reyes. The seventh graders that participated in leadership were Brevan Jorgenson, Joshua Moore, Stacia One Feather, Loren Ransome, Briana Simusa, Evan White, Liz Winkler, and Jonathan Williams. Mrs. Figueroa was the sponsor of the leadership. She said that they work together to learn about leadership and teamwork.
Fred Cooperwood was an eighth grader this year and was in leadership. He said it was nice to be with a good group and learn together. Fred said he learned more going on the field trips then sitting in a classroom and talking about leading. He said Gifford Farm was the best field trip because it was fun and they learned a lot. “I loved being a leader it made me feel good and it was a great experience,” said Cooperwood.
Asher Lewis was another eighth grader in leadership. Asher said that the best part of leadership was working together and learning to do better teamwork. He said that the field trips did provide a better experience for learning. It gave them a atmosphere outside of school to learn. He also said Gifford Farm was his favorite field trip because it was very interesting. “This was a great thing and I loved being in it because I learned how tobe a leader,” said Lewis.
Briana Simusa was a seventh grader on the leadership teams. She said that at the leadership conference she met a lot of new people. “I enjoyed it because I learned a lot about meeting new people and how to handle new people,” said Simusa.
