Texting
Texting
Should texting be allowed in school? In class? Why or why not? What should be done about texting in class if a student is caught? Should phones be brought to school? If there is an emergency should kids be allowed to use their phones in class?
Kayla Clarkson, 8, said that texting should be allowed in class, only if there is nothing else to do during that time. Nothing should be done to kids who are caught texting. All that should happen is to be told to do work. Alex Williams, 8, agrees with Clarkson. He added students need phones in case of emergencies.
Ms. Maciejewski, reading teacher, said that there shouldn’t be texting in class. If there is texting in class during a test students could be sharing answers. Phones should be brought to school for some students, because they might need to call a ride or call their parents with important information “I would want my parents to know that I was safe,” said Maciejewski.

Carlisa Cunningham, 7, said that students that bring phones to school and get acught texting, they should get a warning to put the phone away. Texting should not be allowed in class because it would jsut be a distraction, but it would help because it would be something to do when there's free time. Phones should be brought to school because they would come in handy. Aaron Bell, 7, said he agrees with Cunningham. He added "If there are friends in other places we should be able to talk to them." said Bell.

Mr. Henderson, music tech and web design teacher, said that phones should not be brought to school. It is a distraction by the students because they on texting instead of their school work. Texting is not allowed in class and it would get worse if the school allowed it. Phones can be brought to school but they need to stay in a locker because there should not be a reason to use the phone. The school has phones in every class should something like an emergency arise. “If a student is caught texting the phone should be taken away, and the student gets a referral. It would be really cool if the school could scramble the signal so texting would be impossible,” said Henderson.
