Mrs. Fitch, Dean of Students, is leaving McMillan this year because she feels it is time for retirement. Fitch wants to be completely available for her grandchildren. Fitch has worked at the school for 30 years and is one of the administrators. She has been a dean for five years and a P.E. teacher for 25 years. She has not taught anywhere else.
One of her duties has been helping organize honors night. She enjoyed recognizing students for their achievements. She has also been involved with other activities around the school.
Fitch coached for 19 years and coached volleyball, basketball, swimming, gymnastics, track. She also did a variety of intramurals, one of which was bowling. Some of the changes she has noticed were students have a lot more on their plate than they used to and they have a whole different set of worries. She became the Dean because she felt she was ready for a change and felt she could contribute in this role.
After Fitch leaves she plans to watch the New York Yankees play in many different stadiums. Fitch also hopes to go to more away Nebraska football games and play golf. She said she worked with a lot of great people. “I will miss the students,” said Fitch.
