Student Jobs
Student Jobs
A lot of teenagers are starting to get jobs. Teenagers want more money or to feel like they’re growing up and becoming more responsible. Teenagers can get jobs at the age of 14 and most of the jobs are at fast food restaurants such as Burger King, Taco Bell, KFC, Taco Johns, and etc. Kevin Lust, 7, said, “I’m not 14 yet, but I can still do jobs that can get me money. I will mow people’s lawns or do chores that help people.”

Teenagers that get jobs apply for them and have to give a résumé just like adults do. Teenagers that look for a job should look for “Help Wanted” signs or just go somewhere and ask if there are any job openings. Some students work at places like Hyvee or franchises that are not food related. There are places like care washes, babysitting, lawn mowing service, and for some they play music.

There are more than a hundred thousand jobs that teenagers 14 or over can work at. Teenagers will usually start off at minimum wage and work there way up to more money. Responsibility is a big factor when a teenager gets a job. Andres Butler, 7, said, “Working is hard, but I like getting paid money because I can buy better stuff. Like some new shoes.”
