Counselor Ms.Bartling is retiring from the McMillan staff. Bartling has been a part of the staff for a total of 33 years. She was a math teacher for 9 years and a counselor for 24 years. She has been a teacher for a total of 33 years. She is retiring at the age of 55. She said 55 is an early age for retirement, but she would like to spend more time with her family.
Bartling is sad to leave all of the fine teachers, students, and staff. She will miss meeting new students each year and having the opportunity to work with parents. “Also, there have been several students and teachers who have passed away. All of those deaths have been difficult for all of us at school,” said Bartling.
Bartling is glad that she doesn’t just have one funny memorable moment. She has laughed a lot and was part of a staff that didn’t take themselves too seriously. “My fondest memories will be of those that made me laugh. McMillan is a fine school with a rich tradition of achievement and involvement in the community. I will miss all of the staff, students, families, and school lunches,” said Bartling.
After retirement, Bartling plans on cleaning out her garage, visiting her family, and deciding what she wants to be when she grows up.
