Get Your Green On
Get Your Green On
Lately the new trend has been to Go Green. More people have been getting involved in keeping the world going. Grocery stores have been getting their green on too. They now have reusable bags to put purchases in. Aaron Reily, 7, said his family has a lot of those bags and it’s easier to hold stuff in. These bags are bigger than the flimsy plastic bags so they won’t rip.
The school has a couple groups that help the green spread. There’s a group of students that take part in recycling once every week. They go around to each and every classroom to dump out their recyclables into a tub. Also, there’s the YVC group. They take part in Going Green too. They have meetings every Tuesday to discuss what else they can do to improve the world. “We made our own little inventions that had to do with reduce, reuse, and recycle,” said Maggie Peterson, 8.
Really anyone can get their green on. Changing regular light bulbs to Florissant ones is a way. These kinds are safer for the environment. Also, planting trees or flowers around your neighborhood works. It’ll make it look nicer and keep the area fresh. “I love to recycle because it helps the environment and it gets me the ladies,” said Weston Denman, 8.
