After Teaching for six years at the Mac, Mrs. Erickson music teacher has now decided to leave to join the staffs of Springs Elementary, Fairview Elementary, and Mission Middle. Erickson will be teaching band to sixth, seventh, and eighth graders. Bellevue School District called Erickson out of nowhere and asked her to an interview. “I had applied with Bellevue Public Schools several years ago but wasn’t even looking for a new job, I didn’t know they had a position open. The rest is history,” said Erickson.
Erickson married, has two children and owns a Westie named Molly. She also enjoys knitting, sewing, playing golf, and spending time with her family. One of Erickson’s reasons to move to a new school district is her kids. “I decided to move because my kids will be attending school there in a few short years,” said Erickson.
Making the decision to move to a new district wasn’t easy for Erickson, considering McMillan was her first teaching job. Erickson feels moving is the best decision for her family life. Erickson will miss the fist staff she ever belonged to. “I will miss the staff the most. The students come and go every year no matter where you teach, but the staff is there year after year and the staff at McMillan is second to none,” said Erickson.
