Students taking journalism get to take pictures and be the first to see what the yearbook looks like. This is the first year that McMillan’s had a color yearbook. In the yearbook people get to see pictures of themselves and their friends. “My favorite part is when the books come back and I get to see people enjoy them,” said Ms. Balentine, advisor.
Being apart of the yearbook staff, students get to take pictures, and the yearbooks staff members decide which photos go where. They also write all of the captions. The yearbook records the history of the school for that year. “Working on the yearbook was my favorite part because I love to work on the computer,” said Tyler Wolterman, 8, staff member.
The yearbook features a special section that includes the majority of the school. Because of the student interest in journalism there was two classes. “My favorite part of the yearbook was being able to see it finished before everybody else,” said Crystal Ishii, 8, staff member.
There are only a few more copies of the yearbook left. Reserve one by getting an order form from the language arts teacher or from Ms. Balentine. They are all-color and on sale for $30. They will arrive in the middle of May before school gets out.
Some people keep their yearbooks forever. Mrs. Arbuckle, librarian, not only has her yearbooks from high school, she also has her mother’s. She went on to say that she still looks at them and even laughs at some of the photos.
