Is it easy to get on the Honor Roll or are the students’ just high achievers? Well, the answer has to be that they are all just high achievers, since the Honor Roll is based on grades. The Honor Roll consists of Gold, Silver and Bronze levels. To be on the different Honor Rolls you have to have certain GPA.
Kyle Dean, 7, was really happy to be on the Gold Honor Roll, which requires a GPA if 4.0 or higher. When he found out, he said it felt really good to have his name be noticed. Dean was also on the Honor Roll at his previous school. “It isn’t hard to be on the Honor Roll, you have to work hard and do your work,” said Dean.
Mady Kenny, 8, said that it’s not hard to be on the Honor Roll, she just had to stay concentrated. Kenny hasn’t been on the Honor Roll at any of her other school because they didn’t have one. “It feels great when you know you’ve done a job well done,” said Kenny.
To be on the Silver Honor Roll, students have to have a GPA of 3.500 to 3.999. Paige Muhammad, 7, earned her way on the Honor Roll by having As and Bs. For her reward at home, she got to go shopping. “All other students should just keep working hard if they want to be on the Honor Roll,” said Muhammad.
Students who earn a GPA of 3.0 to 3.499 earn a place on the Bronze Honor Roll. Evan Berry, 8, said that he didn’t think it was that hard to be on the Honor Roll. Berry said he only found out that he was on even on the Honor Roll when he was interviewed. “It’s really motivating to know I’m on the Honor Roll,” said Berry.
The students get pride shirts or pride stars for their reward for earning their place on the Honor Roll. Ms. Bartling, Honor Roll advisor said, “The Honor Roll is completely based on grades, nothing else."
