On March 5 the NJHS went to Belvedere Elementary School to read books to the elementary students. The eight grade members of the NJHS that went were Sabrina DeSandro, Josie Bircher, Leigh Gustafson, Nathan Kellogg, Texan Tonjee, Lindsey Aflague, Cal Butler, Rachael Kirshenmann, Jaclyn Rentschler, Brooklyn Christensen, Matthew Dean, Crystal Ishii, Asher Lewis, Lindi Walter, Samantha Robb, Chandan Grayson-Pattar, Madeline Kenny, and Anthony Marinella. This was organized by Ms. Maciejewski sponsor.

Book Blasters is a club where students get a list of books to read. The eight girls plus two alternatives and two time keepers get to go to competition based on how many books they read. The eighth grade members were Christine Anderson, Sabrina DeSandro, Jessica White, Maggie Peterson, Chandler Hunter, Kaitlyn Tonack, Samantha Robb, Annemarie Abisset, and Nichole Wicken. The seventh grade members were Liz Winkler and Briana Simusa.

Violence in Omaha, is getting worse by the minute. We had 5 weekend shootings not too long ago. Now, that in my opinion is just too much! The first weekend shooting was near 24^th and Lake Streets. A 24 year old man was shot in his car in a parking lot of a convenience store at 2 A.M. The second shooting was Sunday at 2:30 A.M. on 30^th and Ames Ave. A 21- year old man was shot by an off-duty police officer.

Getting a hug from a good friend in the morning can brighten any ones day, I know it does mine. I probably get around 40 hugs a day, and each one of those hugs makes me feel even more loved. It shows how much my friends really care about me.
