A Congrats to....our very own assistant principal, Fred Marisett, who was inducted into the Hammond (Indiana) Sports Hall of Fame for his stellar athletic career and the positive example he's given the youth of Nebraska for the past 30 years.
Congratulations! to the McMillan Vex Robotics team of Rob Phillips, Evan White, Brett Craig and the Robot Achilles for finishing 80th at the World Vex Robotics Championship. There were 280 teams from 11 countries competing in one open division. The team competed well against high school and middle schools teams over the 3 day tournament in Dallas, TX.
CONGRATULATIONS to the McMillan Magnet Center 2009 Rotary Honor Roll Members! These students attended a luncheon at the QWEST Center on Wednesday, April 29th where they were honored for their demonstration of excellence in the areas of leadership, character, scholarship, and presence.

Congratulation's to the McMillan Science Olymipad Team which took 4th place in the 2009 Nebraska State Science Olympiad Tournament. This is the first time in the past decade that an OPS school has finished in the top 5! Twenty-one Nebraska middle schools participated in the state competition, which was held at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln on April 18, 2009.

Congratulations to Giselle Tran for placing third in the Nebraska History Day competition. Along with trophies the teams won a combined $1,250. Great job McMillan Engineers. This is a great accomplishment for the McMillan teams.
A very special Pride Shout Out to the following participants who won 3rd place Saturday March 21st at Northwest High School in the African American History Challenge they took home a $300.00 prize and a trophy! Briana Simusa, Nixon Chica, Mathew Tonnies.
Congratulations go out to the students who participated in the Nebraska College Prepatory Academy. This is a program for incoming 9th graders at North High. If these students meet program requirements throughout high school, they will be eligible for a 4 year full tuition scholarship to UNL! Emanuel Acosta, Gavrella Dickey, Alyssa Jacobsen, Roman Long, Brandon McQuinn, Joshua Moore, McKenzie Nienaber, Stacia One Feather, Shelby Petrini, Katie Randall, Anjela Rush, Bernard Turner, Ashton Watson-Jones, Johnathan Williams and Devon Williams.
A huge WTG to the following students who earned State Recognition for outstanding performance on their ACT's-earning scores equal or better than half of the college-bound seniors who took the tests. These students will be recognized at a ceremony on Tuesday, May 12th at the University of Nebraska-Kearny: Ben Carey, Lilia Hutchinson, AJ Klukowski, Sujana Maddipati, Jacob Overbeck, William Picken, Spencer Robinson, Emily Stott and Matthew Tonnies.
Let's give a big Monarch ROARRRR to the following students for an outstanding performance on their ACT's-earning scores equal or better than 90% of college-bound seniors who took the same tests. These students will be recognized at a ceremony at Duke University, Durham, North Carolina on Monday May 18th. Brock Ericson, Cody Hare, Walker Bryan and Alex Ulrich!!!

The McMillan Engineering Teams took 1st and 2nd place at the Society of American Military Engineering competition on Tuesday.
A huge WTG! to the team of Zach Bram, Azure Gonzalez, Drew Hackett, Brevan Jorgenson, Alyssa Mount, Aaron Riley, Austin Schmidt, Giselle Tran, and Andrea Vieth for winning the Grand Prize for their project Heat the Robinsons in the SAME/SIMP competition.
Honorable mention to the team of Eric Anderson, Myles Coddington, Paul Gargarella, Dustin Gathje, Roman Long, Josh Moore, Sarah Myers, Alex Plambeck, and Loren Ransome for taking second place in the SAME/SIMP competition with there project Mad Streets, Safe Sides.
