Bridge Club
Meetings
Tuesdays beginning September 23rd from 2:40-4:00 in Room 173
Warren Buffett and Bill Gates, both expert bridge players, and the American Contract Bridge League, have teamed up to sponsor bridge in the schools. Bridge teaches kids math skills, logical thinking, and how to work with others. In bridge, two pairs of partners take turns bidding how many tricks, or rounds of cards, they think they will win. Partners signal each other what kind of cards they hold and which suit they want to be "trumph," or winner over all other suits. Bill Gates learned bridge from his parents but took it up seriously when he began playing with Buffett 10 years ago. " Bridge is a game where you keep improving and feel great about it without even hitting the limit of what can be done." If you like getting to know people while playing a mentally-challenging game, join the McMillan Bridge Club. No experience is necessary-we'll teach you what you need to know!
