Congratulations to Lewis and Clark Middle School students who participated in the National French Contest under the direction of their teachers Anne McCormick and Ashlee Davis. Level 1 students competed against mostly high school students and rocked the contest! Your phenomenal French students are: Rosa Ixcoy-Garcia who was the top Trailblazer 8th grader and placed 13th in Nebraska out of 297 Level 1 French students, mostly from high schools; Ellie Pleggenkuhle who placed 24th in Nebraska; Tete Atiso was 25th in the state of Nebraska; and Zach Abbott was 29th.
The seventh grade swept the top five places in Nebraska with 41 students competing.
In first place was Chloe Klare. Second was Eva Gomez-Mancillas. Third place was a tie between Evan Dimon and Maggie Winton and Nick Lacroix placed 4th.
Also receiving top 10 places in Nebraska were Molly Wolfe in 8th place, Grace DeLaittre in 9th, and a 3-way tie for 10th between Nick Dunn, Brittney Matya and Elena Tomasello.
