Students in Barb Brimmerman's ESL class at Lewis and Clark have been recreating the prairies that Meriwether Lewis and William Clark saw as they made their way across eastern Nebraska over two hundred years ago. Mrs. Brimmerman worked with UNO's Service Learning Academy to beautify part of the Lewis and Clark campus, while giving the community a historic perspective.

Seventh grade students in Mrs. Therkelsen's HomeBase class have been working on their Capstone Project for Children's Hospital. Students researched the need and spoke in depth with one of their classmates who spent time at Children's Hospital when she was younger. From her they discovered that one of the major needs of sick children in the hospital is comfort. So the students decided to make fleece blankets that will be delivered to young people in the hospital.
