Special Education at King Science
King Science has a full inclusion model for delivering special education services. Full inclusion is the idea that each student will receive their services in the least restrictive environment, the regular education classroom. As the special education teacher, I am in the classroom, co-teaching with the regular education teacher.
There are three co-taught classes in 5th grade: Literacy with Mrs. Baxa, Literacy with Mrs. Hardiman and Math with Mrs. Darrell.
Read Right
Read Right is a new reading intervention program offered at King Science. The methodolgy behind the program is to create an excellent reader through correct "cycling"; allowing the brain to make mistakes and correct the mistakes during the reading process. Read Right develops efficient and fluent readers, focusing the reader on the meaning of the text to build comprehension.
