Create a Poster displaying their achievements in any area related to
Flight, Space,  Health Care, Food Service, Agriculture, Robotics, Child Care or Education, or Industry.
 
Include the following info on the poster:
Name
Birth & Death info
Achievement
Catagory (from above)
A drawing of something related
 
Use your space wisely!!!
 
Notable African-Americans
 
Black Scientists & Inventors
 
Spotlight- African American Scientists
 
African American Astronauts
 
African Americans in Science and Technology

PRIDE Expectations
  • Please feel free to play with the pets as long as they are in their cages and you are in your seat ready to read at the beginning of the announcements.
  • The teacher will pick up folders from students at their desks at 8:19.  The teacher will then send students to line up standing on the gray line (where the carpet meets the tile.)
  • Passing credit will be given to students who read until instructed to journal.  Points will be given daily for participation.
  • Passing credit will be given to students who write a paragraph about what they have read each day.
Journals:

When journaling, write questions, thoughts, observations, revelations, etc.

Some more journal ideas:

Write a letter to the author.

Write a one minute radio advertisement persuading the public why they should buy and read this book.

Q & A - Pretend you're interviewing a person from the book. Write your interview in question and answer format.

Write a letter to one of the characters in the book.

Choose your favorite passage from the book. Copy it down and discuss what you found appealing about it.

Discuss in depth the relevance of the title.
