Computer Applications Level I

Students new to King Science and Technology Magnet are traditionally assigned to this class.  New fifth and seventh grade students take this semester class. Keyboarding skills are introduced and students by the end of the semester are expected to key 30 words per minute with no errors.  In addition to keying, students learn Microsoft Office, Appleworks, Inspiration, and i-life.

Computer Applications Level II

 Students in sixth grade at King Science and Technology Magnet are traditionally assigned to this class.   This semester class reinforces keyboarding skills. Students by the end of the semester are expected to key 45 words per minute with no errors.  In addition to keying, students learn Microsoft Office, Appleworks, Inspiration, and i-life.  Multimedia presentations allow students to enter contests and show their work to the community. Students learn graphic arts with drawing tablets, Photoshop, and animation.
