Library Hours

Library Procedures and Hours

 Our library is open from 7:30AM until 2:50PM every day to check out and return library books. 
 
The library will be open after school
Tues, Weds, and Thurs until 4:30 PM. 
 
Students who wish to stay in the library LATER than 2:50 must have a pass from the teacher assigning the project/assignment/etc that requires after school library time.  Students must also report to the library no later than 2:50PM if they plan to stay late.
Bus riders must sign up for the 3:40 activity bus with the teacher from whom they got the pass to the library .
 
Students staying in the library after school may research, read, or work on school projects.

Meet the Library Staff

 Mrs. Wiese, Library Paraprofessional

Mrs. Wiese is an Omaha native. She graduated from Omaha North High School (her graduation year is a secret!) She has worked for OPS for many years in various positions from technology support to library paraprofessional. Mrs. Wiese is married with two grown children. She also has a big yellow lab that takes her for walks everyday! She enjoys reading science fiction and fantasy books. Her favorite book is The Naming by Alison Croggon. 

 
Mrs. Nieland, Librarian Teacher
 Mrs. Nieland grew up in Brownville, Nebraska, a town of 150 people. She attended a two-classroom school Kindergarten through 8th grade. She graduated from Auburn High School with a class of 56. Mrs. Nieland earned her bachelor’s degree from Kansas State University and her master’s from University of Nebraska at Kearney. Mrs. Nieland has taught 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grade.  She is married with two small kids and a little white dog named Sophie. In her free time she loves to bake and cook for family and friends. She enjoys reading all types of books. Her favorite “most recent read” is the Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins.
