Welcome to Mrs. Edgar's Physical Education Class

My name is Mrs. Edgar.  I teach physical education to 5th, 6th, and 7th graders this year.  I have taught at Buffett the last five years.  Before coming to Buffett, I taught at Lewis & Clark Middle School for 17 years and in Yucca Valley, California for two years.

Being active is important to me.  I hope to stress to my students the value of finding activities they enjoy so they can stay active and healthy throughout their life.  I stress to my students good sportsmanship, cooperation, and giving their best effort in all our activities.

Students will participate in a wide variety of activities throughout the school year such as flag football, field hockey, soccer, volleyball, badminton, basketball, aerobics, weight training, pickle ball, softball, and fitness testing.  Activities will be individual and well as team oriented.

I also coach the 7th/8th grade girls' swimming team and sponsor after school intramural aerobics.

Remember, that without a healthy body, it's hard to have a healthy mind!

Policy for Class Absences
Minimize

Because participation is a major part of a student's grade in physical education, participation needs to be made up so those points may be earned back.  For each absence, a student must complete 20 minutes of exercise outside of class.  After completing the exercise, they must have an absence form signed by their parent/guardian and returned to their teacher.  The forms are located in the locker rooms.  Students have two weeks after the absence to make up participation points.
