WELCOME TO MY WEB PAGE WEB PAGE

Welcome to my Social Studies web page.  I teach both 7th and 8th grade Social Studies.  I loop with my students, so students will have my class for two years.  In 7th grade I teach World Culture and in 8th grade I teach American History.

In 7th grade students will study 4 different regions of the world.  The regions are Southwest Asia and North Africa, Africa, Asia and Russia.  Students learn about the culture, history, and economics of the different regions and make connections as to what is happening there in the present time.

Students will read novels relating to the four different regions.  They will read them in my classroom or in their Language Arts or Reading classroom.

In 8th grade students pick up where they left off in 5th grade.  We will review the American Revolution and cover from the Constitution up to World War I.  Students will read novels relating to the different time periods covered.  Students also learn about culture and economics and how it relates to American History.
