This year the students have been enjoying our new reading management program called The Daily 5.  The students have been working hard to build their stamina during Read to Self and are currently reading for 25 minutes a day!  They are consistently using the library to get books that are interesting to them and are at their individual level.

We are launching the vocabulary component of The Daily 5 on Monday.  The students have been introduced to a new vocabulary graphic organizer and will be working with vocabulary study groups to discuss, share, & learn about new words together. We are confident that conversations about new words will increase each student's vocabulary!

Please help your child by having them read for AT LEAST 25 minutes a night.  They can read silently, to you, to a younger sibling, to the family pet, it doesn't matter!  The best way to become a better reader is to READ, READ and READ some more.
