Welcome to Ms. Goecker's Music web page!

Thanks for stopping by!

I teach a combination of 5/6th grade Instrumental music and 7/8th grade Vocal Music.

Instrumental music is a performance based class in which 5th graders start the year learning basic music theory and are introduced to the many different types of instruments.  Within the first three weeks of beginning a school year we will assist students and parents with their instrument choices, allowing enough time for them to rent or purchase one for the school year.  Once in 6th grade they will continue the learning of their instrument for further mastery.

Vocal Music is a non-performance based music class.   Many ask, what does that mean?  Vocal Music is a text driven music class in which we cover all aspects of music appreciation.  In 7th and 8th grade vocal music we learn about the history of music, composers, music careers, world music and many other aspects of music.
